Real poor service , lack of staff and some that were working were poorly trained , had to constantly get my own drinks from bar as they were poured and just left there . Food normaly exceptional however steaks cooked wrong waitress did not know which steak was which . £ 200 pound birthday meal that’s was ruined by the poor planning of the management.

We were there new years eve. The food was exceptional- perfectly cooked steak and good value for money. My only criticism would be that the atmosphere was non existent. The young lady that served us didn't crack a smile at all and looked like it was the last place she wanted to be. This was a shame as we were planning to have a drink and see the new year in after eating, but were home by 10.30pm.

Overall experience was good, lovely place, lovely staff especially our waiter Josh who was very polite and attentive all night. Manageress was friendly and polite and listened to our concerns. If service had been quicker and food warmer then I would have rated it 10/10 and excellent. Looking forward to returning to try the new menu x

My steak was great but husbands was a bit thinner & slightly over cooked but still enjoyed it. Rocket salad was bland looking as just green leaves of rocket so just something to go with it? Overall enjoyed the experience & would go back

Me and my daughter ordered a T bone and a fillet but both were out of stock.That was very disappointing ,so instead I had the New York and my daughter had a rump steak .. But they were very very nice , so in the end we got a nice juicy steak each So hopefully next time you will have them in stock.. Overall service was excellent and enjoyed the night Regards mark Mantom.

Two of our drinks were served in glasses with lipstick on! An alcoholic drink was given to my friend who had ordered coke as driving but was given a rum and coke that was for someone else. One friends steak was cold when it came out. Desserts we ordered were not available and we weren't told just given an alternative (taken off bill). No signs on toilets and no soap in toilets. Service and wait on food was slow to say there was barely anyone else in there!

Quite a Large group of us And our food I could see clearly from our table left under the heated lamps for too long before being delivered to the table resulting in not hot enough, wilted rocket, we had to preorder two days before which takes away the dining out experience No one came for dessert order so we decided to leave that, they clearly wanted the table back so we’re asked to move to snug with our drinks, clearly there was no where for us to go as they still had customers sat there, felt like we were constantly being watched and it felt uncomfortable, it does state a two hour slot for table but there was 9 of us and we had already ordered our meals before arrival we still had 25 minutes of our two hour slot left … fast food you could call it but not fast food prices we were out for the evening.. maybe we should have just taken it away because we felt we were an inconvenience… girl on front desk miserable and unhelpful

Excellent service, always a good amount of staff to provide it. Great atmosphere and excellent food. It's always good to be able to see an open kitchen. I do enjoy the beef starter but did notice on the evening of 4th Feb that the meat, instead of being a ball shape was very flat and smaller. It was tasty but not the same. I have recommended your fantastic restaurant to many friends and others. Thank you.

I was so disappointed with the service at this place , we had a 9 person table £255 bill , waited over an hour to be asked if we wanted to order even though I ended up asking for them to take it. Food was good, wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. I won’t be going again , such a same as other people I know can’t fault it.

We had a fab time. My only criticism (and this doesn’t detract from the score) was that when I booked online it asked if it was a special occasion. I said yes as that day was both mine and the other lady in the group’s birthday. This was not mentioned at all, not even a ‘happy birthday’ from the greeter. Now I’m a big girl and not particularly bothered by this but my point is why ask if you are not going to bother with the info. We will definitely be back.

We have been wanting to visit for ages. So booked last minute yesterday. Love the look of the restaurant but the smell from outside was not great? Not your fault I know. We were disappointed as there were quite a lot not available off the menu. However our food when it arrived was delicious. My husband was disappointed also as there were no drought ales or larger and the bottled beer always is expensive. The deserts sounded delicious but we felt that they were not worth the high price.

It was our first time here and whilst the steaks were absolutely amazing we were a little disappointed with the following...the mushroom and tomato sides were luke warm although the chips were hot, the music was too loud in the dining area and didn't really suit the atmosphere in the restaurant, no-one checked on our meal to see if the steaks were as we wanted them or if we were happy with everything, we were left with empty drinks for a long time and in fact noone asked if we wanted any more at all. Also it was slightly cool in the restaurant with the door in the kitchen open. We appreciate it's a hot kitchen but diners should take priority. Having said all this the steaks were amazing and exactly as we liked them cooked and we were really impressed with the menu.

We parked on the back carpark and didn't notice any signs up on the door for entry. The lady who served us was very good. The decor was nice inside. I asked for my steak medium but it came out more well done. For the money the steak was a little tough and chewy. I won't recommend this to others.

First time we had visited after trying numerous times to get in when the restaurant first opened and have to say slightly disappointed in the ambiance, bright lighting ,sat right looking into the kitchen and very few tables taken albeit a Tuesday evening at 7.30 . Have to say steak was excellent and service, surprised last orders at the bar was 9.00 pm !!! Will return but will ask fir table in bar area next time

Came here when it first opened in lockdown and thought it was lovely, but unfortunately it wasn’t as good this time. All of our steaks were overdone and the peppercorn sauce was very watery. The waiters we had were lovely, but there were some a couple staff members working at the bar who gave us some looks and were clearly talking about us, and I noticed that they were doing the same for a few other customers too, which made us quite uncomfortable.

The place & menu look fantastic, unfortunately on my visit my steak tasted like charcoal, onion rings over cooked, little ones steak was burnt on outside, beans were cold & other ones burger bap was burnt, beans were cold.I didnt complain because i know how disheartening it is for the kitchen staff, floor staff to hear.

We wanted to come here after so many good reviews but unfortunately let down by the quality of food. Me and two others visited and found the menu to be rather pricey, even more so than miller and carter on some options. However, considering the raving reviews we didn't mind paying the price if the steak was as good as places like Miller & Carter. We all ordered the same New York strip steak - medium rare. The servers were lovely and our food didn't take long to arrive. We also had sides which were lovely. The steaks were all well done and had no flavour. We all said that the steak would of been edible and expected if it was from a place that didn't specialise in steak such as a normal pub place. We apologised to the waitresses and said our steak wasn't medium rare & she agreed - who might I add were lovely people and their service was certainly A*. She apologised and had the chef recook our steaks and we were completely happy with this as we could snack on our sides and medium rare steaks wouldn't take long to cook. The steaks eventually come out and they are somewhat slightly better but still not acceptable quality from a place that bases their whole brand on being a steakhouse. The steaks were again well done. We picked at our steaks and decided we were not happy with the food. We told the waitresses and manager and she profusely apologised. We had a discount on the food and was pleased that we were compensated for the bad food. A £25 steak is very expensive and the quality should be amazing, but it was honestly very poor. The service is great, the atmosphere and decoration of the place is pretty but the steaks need to be really looked at as people will come to a steakhouse to expect great steak at the high prices. Another slight improvement would be the outside benches are very uncomfortable, maybe adding cushioning onto them would be an idea to improve the seating as like us, people may want to sit outside to eat when its hot but the seating is actually painful

Went for newyears day with family we all had a very enjoyable experience, i was surprised when ordering my food i was given the options of lamb shank which wasn't on the menu, it was absolutely beautiful infact i couldn't eat it all but definitely recommend to try , other members of my family had alternative food from the menu which they enjoyed, service was excellent, staff all very friendly, will definitely be returning

Was not happy with the service they forgot someone starter then, the cocktails were over priced, the meal wasn’t the best. Then all of a sudden the card machine went down but only for my table therefore had to see if we had enough cash between us. Not happy do not recommend also I paid a £10 deposit for the table which I never got back and it wasn’t taken off the food either.

Our experience was amazing, the food was phenominal! I had the new york strip steak and it was like eating fresh air it was so tender!The smell hits you from the off when you arrive! This is our second time we have been back and will 100% be going back on a regular basis. It is so clean, you can see the chef cooking your food. The satff are so nice and they can't do enough for you, always smiling and happy top help. You will not be dissapointed at Lockside steak house!!

Not enough parking for the amount of seats. When inside the service was very rushed. Made us feel like we were on a tight schedule to get out. 3 steaks ordered, none of which were cooked properly. The salad was just a handful of rocket. Dessert (chocolate fudge cake) tasted very shop bought and was dry. That came suspiciously fast. The place claims to be a steak house but its basically a pub. I do not recommend this place.

Rib eye Steak was very tasty but considering we followed your advice for it to be cooked medium rare it was sadly over cooked. I’d say it was medium to well done. Didn’t complain as there were 4 of us eating and it would have meant the meal was disrupted.

Absolutely fantastic food, service was brilliant and it was definitely worth the money for the portion size. I will definitely be going for Christmas 2025. Staff were very friendly and Matt was brilliant took time to talk to us when he was very busy. Really can't fault anything

Ordered the filet which was tough so I sent it back. Got the rump steak instead which was great. Wife ordered a pudding which was inedible so sent that back.

Waited almost an hour for drinks because there was no ice. When the drinks came there was no ice in them anyway. Food was tasty but steaks were not cooked how we asked for them and servers didn't know which steak or sauce was which so we ended up swapping plates and sauces around the table. I won't be returning.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my father-in-law's 87th birthday at Lockside Steakhouse, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a perfect Sunday lunch. The star of the show was undoubtedly the food. The quality of the meat was exceptional, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. It was evident that only the finest cuts were used, and each bite was a testament to the chef's expertise. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and vibrant, adding a delightful crunch and color to the plate. Service was another highlight of our visit. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything was just right, making our celebration feel truly special. I cannot recommend Lockside Steakhouse highly enough. If you're looking for a place that combines top-notch food with impeccable service in a lovely setting, this is the place to go. I know this daft but the cutlery used for puddings was not the best quality, paid 7 quid for pudding would expect better cutlery, didn’t reflect the overall finish of the restaurant as a whole, which is done to a good standard! Server who “welcomed us” was not overly friendly & we got sat in the bar area. Would have preferred the restaurant as it’s nicer but have not been there before.

Food was good, staff were very friendly. We got seated next to a table with young children who were very boisterous and enjoyed hanging over the back of the booth onto our table. As we were celebrating our anniversary (which the restaurant knew) it was a bit off putting. Fortunately after about 45 minutes they left and the remainder of our dinner was more pleasant.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was beautiful, steaks cooked to how we like them and the knife just slid through them, chips piping hot and the sides were lovely too. The puddings were beautiful too. We really enjoyed our night there and will be returning!

Took along time to bring our menu over even though we asked 3 times, ordered our drinks and he forgot to bring them over, waited another 20 mins ( after already waiting 30 mins) for our order to be taken. Food was served and it was nice. apart from our onion rings were full of flour off the batter that hadnt been mixed correct) sent them back and they gave us a fresh portion, by the time they came we had ate the meal, Tried to order deserts off the menu and they hadn't got any apart from cheesecake and cookie dough (which wernt even on the menu) they were understaffed and the poor lad was running around trying to greet people, seat people take orders, put food orders through, serve the food and drinks, won't be rushing back there again
