Although we had a 6pm reservation for my wife's birthday dinner, we were not seated until around 7pm. The hostess seated 4-5 parties that arrived just before us at 5:50pm, without reservations, instead. She apologized briefly to us (which was appreciated), but offered nothing to remedy to situation. By the time we were seated at 7pm the majority of the restaurant was now empty (the dinner crowd, who arrived without reservations, were now gone), and the food still took a long time to come out of the kitchen. We received no further apology, acknowledgement of my wife's birthday, etc... It was an overall extremely disappointing way to celebrate my wife's birthday with her family. We go to Watson's regularly, typically 1-2 times per month, but this will likely be our last visit there.

Really solid experience. Food was very good, and the frozen mule was one of the best drinks I've ever had. I also very much appreciated the communication during the covid crisis. They just made sure I was okay with indoor seating, and I appreciate the gesture. Very considerate. The service was great too. We were on a date, and they took care of us, but didn't bother us if that makes sense.

Outstanding service! The food and drinks were excellent and the historic building has a comfortable and fun ambiance. Our server at a high top table in the bar area was absolutely wonderful!! It was lunch on a weekday so they were not crazy busy, but still she took the time to take care of our every need. The chicken is great and our server made a great mimosa for my "almost a teetotaler" sister. We will be back!

We had a great time! Server was very nice and friendly and attentive. We always love the food. Only thing that wasn't as great was our table location. We had the farthest table back even though there was one closer to the restaurant and were there first. Some other customers got the better table after we were seated. Still not a bog deal, but it was definitely not the most pleasant location to be seated at.

I gave overall an 8 because 2 of the things I wanted you were out of: all the flavors of the slushie flight and the alabama white sauce.
I gave food a 9 because it was just so good! We love your new fries! I prefer the huspuppies a little less done, ours were pretty toasty. The pickles are so good, the buns, the ranch, the cheesecurds and gravy, delish!
Service I gave a 7 because it took a very long time to get menus, we were actually looking it up on our phones :) Then a very long time to get drinks.
Food was quick though and servers were friendly and helpful!
Ambiance I gave a 7 because we were the last table in the alley with a view of the dumpsters. That's probably luck though, would have loved to sit up closer to the front. The ivy growing up the side of the hotel is so pretty though!
We left feeling so thankful for an awesome local chicken place like Watson's. It was our first experience out to eat since the pandemic! THANK YOU for your hard work and GREAT FOOD. We will be back lots of times this summer! :)

We ate in the outdoor greenhouse and it was great! Toasty warm, clean, twinkly lights for a nice ambiance, and everyone at Watson's following strict covid protocols. I had their house salad with grilled shrimp and citrus vinaigrette and it was fresh and delicious, shrimp was nice sized. My husband had the rice bowl, with chicken tenders and it was wonderful; Watson's chicken is the best in town. Service was just right and our server stayed outside the greenhouse door when possible, with her mask on of course. Overall lovely experience, highly recommend, and it felt so good to be out and about downtown. We also believe very strongly in supporting our local shops and restaurants during this tough time they are going through with the pandemic restrictions.

Fried chicken elevated to the next level? Yep. Reinvented sides. Yep. Edgy mixed drinks. Great layout. Dedicated staff. Yep, yep and yep. It’s the whole package. Will I still go to a certain Louisiana chain for their spicy fried chicken? Absolutely. But this has its own very special niche and is perfect for when you want to go out on the town. Big thumbs up.

We made a reservation online and requested to sit outside if possible. When we got there, the host took us outside but the table he said was ready for us had just been sat with another party. We were seated inside and greeted quickly and placed drink orders. We could see the service end of the bar and could see that half our drinks sat on the bar for a while before they were brought to us. We could mostly mix the slushes up so they weren't too melted at the bottom. We ordered two apps, brussels sprouts and crab hush puppies. They took a very long time to receive, and when we got them the hush puppies were hot but the brussels were cold. Not even warm, completely cold. When we got our dinners, the chicken was much darker than we had ever seen it and when we started eating mine was burnt. It took so long to get it that we didn't request anything to be redone. It took us a full two hours for the meal. My husband was really looking forward to eating here, it had been about a year and a half since we'd been out, and it was really a disappointment.

I cannot remember the name of our lovely server / med length hair and fantastic dress but she was wonderful. The menu omits very important ingredient details from some items. We had two people in our party who do not eat pork due to religious values, & the Rice Bowl in the menu did not mention anything about being cooked in a pork broth or anything about the andouille sausage. Luckily, they did not dig right in & start eating before asking more questions. There was absolutely no way they would have known this important information. Please work on being more inclusive by adding clarity to your menu items.

We had a party reservation for 7. The server seemed disinterested and annoyed to have a 7 top. Took forever to get the first round of drinks. When the rest of the party came, it took forever for him to come back to the table to take their drink orders. We ended up ordering food together with the drinks. I didn't get to order everything I wanted when asked cause he rushed us along. Had to ask another server for things like coffee and straws. Trying to order another round of drinks was a hassle. We weren't asked how the checks we're going to be split before so that was a mess when it was time to settle up. Most of the people at the table work in the food service industry and our plan is to always be courteous, understanding and to tip well. The food made the experience worth it but other than that it was chaotic and discouraging for those of us that want to return.

Cocktail was amazing ( Daisy Buchanan). Brussel sprout appetizer was fantastic. Our server was super helpful. I ordered chicken tenders with mashed potatoes. The chicken was a bit dry and the gravy was not tasty. I would come again for drinks and appetizers but probably not for the main dish.

I really wanted to love this place, but the food was just ok. The chicken was so heavily breaded to the point that it was overcooked just to get the meat up to a safe temp (I assume). Very heavily done. Appetizer, drinks and sides were good.

We sat outside at tables that were a little wonky, but once we got some napkins wedged in under the foot of the table to keep it stable, our drinks felt more secure. Our waitress and her shadow were attentive and helpful, and the food was delicious!

Food was poorly prepared. Dry cold fried chicken. Cold fries. Over fried dry hush puppies. The fried okra was well prepared. Oh the hot chicken was also not really spicy.
Server was great. I mentioned the food quality to him and it was a shoulder shrug response. Other than that he was on it. And the music is too loud. I say all this as someone who is not a butthole just very disappointed.

It was a lovely experience--brunch at 10 outdoors in the alley next to the quaint building. Well-cared-for flowers were growing in a container next to us. The tables were spaced appropriately and the hosts and servers were well organized and gracious. The drinks and food were excellent. It's the food we come here for!

took nearly an hour and half to recieve our food, the waiter forgot to put in parts of our order. When the food finally came out it wasn't even hot, almost like it had been done and sitting. The manager on duty did comp the food which helped but we had always had a great experience prior. Very reluctant to return.
