I was so excited to try out this restaurant! I had heard much about it over the last few months from some friends and finally my fiancée and I decided to try it out- staff was very welcoming upon our arrival and we were seated fairly promptly. Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Monday special- Prime Rib and he had “Big Al’s” speakeasy speciality. The food was delicious and came out perfectly. If the evening were to end here it would be a perfect score, however, about halfway through our meal probably at about 8pm, a male employee began yelling rather offensively at another staff member right in the middle of the bar area . I was honestly shocked. His voice was very loud and carried throughout the area he seemed to be threatening the blond female server for what I’m not quite certain but I can almost guarantee whatever mistake she made is not near as bad as his mistake of verbally berating a coworker in front of the dinner rush. The fact that this type of behavior is tolerated at all in this establishment is shocking. The female server appeared devastated and as though she wanted to defend herself but was embarrassed by the whole situation so she simply walked away….i believe she may have left for the night as I didn’t see her again. Overall everything was wonderful until this extremely uncomfortable encounter and honestly the food isn’t worth the stress of wondering if waitstaff are going to get into a fist fight during the main course. The female server very easily could have escalated the situation and I’m grateful she didn’t but that male employee needs to learn how to behave in front of guests. Needless to say at this point we quickly asked for our check and left much earlier than we typically would due to the atmosphere being so uncomfortable by that point.
