Evening out with the ladies at Dem Shish. We were made to feel very welcome, staff were all very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Food was lovely, well presented and very tasty, we had their offer of eat out to help out and treated ourselves to cocktails of which there is a plentiful collection. We will visit again!!

The restaurant was very busy but there were plenty of staff to look after everyone. We were warmly welcomed and given a choice of tables. The server brought iced water with lemon straight away and then took our drinks order. The menu is well laid out and there’s plenty of choice. Everything was beautifully prepared and served as usual. Service is efficient but friendly and we didn’t feel rushed. The musical entertainment was good, although we thought it was a bit louder than previously. However it was not overly intrusive.
We look forward to our next visit.

Overall experience was good, always a good vibe on a Saturday night there. However, we had to squish together on a smaller table as there was 7 of us. They were going to try and fit us on a bigger table but then another table of 7 walked in, so we were asked to squish. One of the waitresses knocked a drink on my friends lap, we didn't say anything at the time, but it was a bit messy and ruined her clothes a little. So would have been nice to get some sort of compensation for that.

Very surprised to find myself in such a busy restaurant on a Tuesday evening, better than being in a near empty restaurant for certain. There was live music but it was a little difficult to hear it at times but hey ho. Service was very good as was the food, discounted menu on a Tuesday was a bonus and made the meal good value.

On first arrival the bar man was on his phone and didnt even acknowldge us, it was only a few moments until a pleasant young man showed us to a table.
The seating was comfortable - The restaurant has lost of cobwebs that can be seens from the window tables
The portions were disapointing for the price point the meal for 3 really wasnt value at £45 with lots of rice unde the meat, designed for 3 fed 2 adults and one 12 year old, we chose an adult meal fr the other 12 year old whoch meant we had a bit of her chicken
It was quiet but the atmosphere was missing something, it was our wedding anniversary meal - but it didnt feel special at all, As shame as we were recommended by friends who must have had a far better evening than us
We chose this restaurant as we like greek/turkish food as a family but it had to be compared to a recent greek dinner which was far better value, portions and atmosphere.
The young man with the tatoos that served us was very nice and polite, he was your daving grace on this occasion

Food was good although it came out warm and not hot. I feel like the staff are on you far too much, our empty starter plates were only just finished and taken of the table then our main course was there. And when we had barely put our cutlery down from finishing our main , we were asked if we had finished. My point is you just feel very very rushed .

This is the 3rd time I have been.
We were given our starter and while eating this we were being offered our mains we said no as we were still eating starters. Unfortunately I think this ment it was ready so then just sat until our starter plates were taken. So when our mains arrived they were cold. My friend asked for hers to been re cooked (it had yogurt on it) it had been taken and was gone less than two minutes so I'm guessing a quick blast in the microwave. The yogurt was then hot. My friend hardly touched her food.
We had been given starters and mains within 10mins of being there and just made to feel like we were on a conveyer belt.
Unfortunately just not a great experience.

I had the best Birthday and I was so happy to have spent it at Dem Shish with my friends! The staff were polite and accommodating, food was served promptly. The live singer was talented, and even though we sat right next to her, the music was not overbearing. The food was delicious, most of us had lamb, some had chicken dishes, but it was simply divine. And everyone surprised me by singing Happy Birthday, I was flattered, and the pistachio chocolate cake was delicious. Also came with a big sparkler! Thank you all so much for making my day so special! The only improvement I would suggest is to make the floor to the toilets a bit less slippery - my shoes had no grip and I was close to slipping as it's polished laminate. Otherwise, the restaurant's ambiance and décor were gorgeous, especially the malachite-inspired walls. :)

Food was absolutely delightful! Really tasty and cocktails are amazing.. when they actually come to the table. Service really lets this place down.. ok it was busy but it took over 30 minutes for drinks to arrive and then when we got the bill there where drinks on our bill that we ordered but never arrived! So quick to add stuff to the bill but really slow actually serving customers. I think you need more staff training or re-look at how you serve customers and once this has been corrected this place will be amazing!

This was our first visit and we went for dinner for my husband's birthday. The food and service were really lovely. The staff are really friendly and efficient. Our starters of babaganoush and meatballs were really tasty. For mains we both had kebabs. I had chicken and my husband had lamb. They were absolutely delicious.
My two bits of feedback would be that 1. The main course came out too quickly - as soon as our starter plates were taken away our mains were put down. Which meant we did finish our meal quite early. So early in fact I remarked to my husband that it was still light when we left! 2. The table we were sat at was like being in Piccadilly Circus. Everyone seemed to be walking past it and it was a bit of a squeeze which wasn't good for our nerves as, every time someone walked past, we thought something was going to be knocked off the table. Which was a shame because it did spoil the evening slightly for us as we couldn't really relax. We could have asked to move, however we didn't! On our next visit though if that table is offered I will definitely ask to be seated elsewhere.

A nice cozy restaurant serving Turkish food. Brought my wife here on a date night while on holiday in Eastbourne. It was a quaint, interesting ambiance. Had a relaxed vibe.
Their Negroni was one of the Best we've had. The Blue Ocean was okay.
Our starters - calamari, which was fresh, tender (not rubbery) and fried in a light batter; aubergine cold mezze - creamy and light served alongside a lovely chili sauce and Turkish bread (like a crispy naan).
Our shared Main: lamb shank - tender, flavourful, and simply seasoned to highlight the quality of the meat.
Pricing - reasonable
Overall, we had an enjoyable evening.

One dish had burnt veg and the chips were cold on arrival. Service was non-existent towards the end of our meal. We could not catch anyone to ask for the bill.
We found the music too loud, but that may be a personal dislike. We'd rather have no music. However, you took 20% off the bill; presumably because of the complaint about the food. I think you need more staff.

Disappointed with the portion size of bottomless brunch meals, they are under half the size of the main menu. Very dangerous as not enough food to soak up the alcohol. On a positive note, service was very good along with ambience.

Lovely evening! the only very tiny little issue! was that the group thought that the music was a little bit loud (i'm obviously getting old!) which makde conversation a little difficult, but that aside - it was a fabulous evening with great food and service!

To be honest it was all good except that our table of 7 was put at the back of the restaurant and forgotten about.
We had to ask for more drinks which didn't come and a plate of extras that never materialised.
We were definitely forgotten about which spoiled the evening. As this was a birthday celebration it was very disappointing...

All the staff were very friendly & polite & their serving skills were good.
The music was a bit too loud for us to talk I would prefer just background soft music. Maybe Fri/Sat nights for the live, louder music ?
My very small negative point was the serviettes were very small & not of good quality.
Other than that we all enjoyed the experience

Most of the food was excellent. Rice was a little too salty tbh. Table service wasn't great. Waitresses were surly, looked like they were bored to be there, and had to ask three times for a glass of water. It was quite busy but there seemed like there was an army of staff. Oh well, will go again might just be a one off.

I had a lovely evening with 2 friends watching Paul Watson entertaining the restaurant with great tunes. The food was amazing, I had the lamb casserole which I have before and was delicious. Also 20% off the overall bill on a Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I will definitely go again. The music is on a Wednesday.
