We were tucked away in a corner, very tight to get into and out. Coconut soup was good, but a little plain. I've had better versions at other restaurants. The green curry was very good. Male waiter was in and out of our area constantly, it was a bit disruptive.

Khao Thai is my all time favourite Thai restaurant! I always have the best time there with amazing food and service. The food is delicious and so are their drinks. My favourite dish is the chicken stir fry with eggplant. So tasty! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

I love Thai food. First time trying Khao Thai. Food was very average, nothing special. We had the combo appetizer. $18 for 2 spring roll and 2 small skewer that were very average and dissapointing. Had the #13 salad and green curry shrimp. $24 for the latter ($21+3.50 rice) is clearly overprice for what it was. Very average and overprice food. Much prefer Siam Kitchen in Ottawa.

The restaurant opens for lunch at noon. On a business day, it would be better if they opened at 11:45. The service was excellent and the food came quickly. Everything was a little sweeter than I expected. Could be less sweet.

Had the green curry combo. Excellent. Level of heat was just right for the selected "medium". It left a substantial tingle, but wasn't over-powering. Only minor issue was that when trying to select a beer, the server identified Newcastle Brown as an IPA, which it really isn't. While is didn't necessarily pair well with my green curry, I still enjoyed it. Apart from this, the meal came in good time and the servers were attentive and patient in waiting for us to be ready to order.

We made the mistake of booking on a Friday evening, so the restaurant was full of noisy people enjoying themselves. We tried moving outside, but unfortunately it was too windy and cold for comfort, so we asked to move in again. Our poor decision, not yours! We very much appreciated the staff’s patience and good nature in trying to accommodate us. The food was delicious and we plan to return soon, but perhaps not at a weekend! Khao Thai was the absolute best thai restaurant I have ever been too! We are from Toronto and were visiting Ottawa for the weekend, decided to dine there on the recommendation of a friend, and enjoyed every bite of the experience. The food was superb, the service was excellent and the decor/ambience was great! This is now our new favourite dinner spot in Ottawa, and we can't wait to go back! We cannot recommend this place highly enough!!!

We were a fairly large group and we were not served at the same time ... Some of us had to wait longer and because the food gets cold fairly quickly we ate at different time ... The price for a plate is high and I was surprise because it does not even includes the jasmine rice for which you have to pay extra ...

We have been going to this very delicious restaurant every time we visit from Montréal fjr the past few years . Sadly we noticed the portions got a lot smaller and the prices went up. The part that we felt was very sad was the pitchers of sangria which were 24$ and didn’t even get a glass of wine each (for 2 people) . The value of the sangria is not impressive at all . We felt it wasn’t a good value at all. The service was impeccable and our waitress was super sweet. Would we return on our next visit? We might think twice.

The food was okay but the pad thai had an odd taste compared to pad thais i've had in the pst. The restaurant was very busy and things felt a bit chaotic. Staff were helpful, though. I didn't like the fact that the bill was thrown on our table immediately after our plates were taken away. The bill was very high for what we ate.

We are quite happy with our first experience at Khao Thai. We had the Tom Yum soup, the papaya salad, the Bangkok streetfood, everything was OK but not outstanding. The mango and sticky rice desert was very tasty because of the sesame and salt added on top.
The overall experience was nice because the service was quick and friendly.
If we come back to Ottawa there is a good chance that we will be back at Khao Thai again.

Waiter’s personal preference on tables, salad before soup served in appetizer- infact instead of getting all three appetizers together, one by one served, mango salad had a hidden chilli that wasted the taste, all mix ups that can be avoided!
Please allow me to say i did feel a bit that “local Canadians” were served in a totally different attitude than “ Asian Canadians” like myself!

The reservation that I made via this app was somehow cancelled. When I showed up at the restaurant I had no reservation. The staff wasn’t too apologetic but did manage to find a small table for us.

This is a restaurant which we were looking forward to returning.
The food was very good but some dishes needed rethink.
My appetizer Por Pia Sod consisted of cabage rolls filled with some vegetables and rice served with a sauce. The rolls were not sticking together, instead they were breaking up making it awkward to dip and eat. The sauce was good but it was not a plum sauce as described.
My main dish was shrimp and pineapple curry. The sauce was divine, coconut milk spicy and delicious. The shrimps were many and perfectly cleaned but the pineapple pieces were straight out of a tin and no effort had been made to cut the big pieces in smaller parts. There were no other vegetables. It was good but it did not impressed, felt thrown together .
Our appetizer combo was excellent, my companions soup with Tiger prawn was to die for and his red curry was not as hot as expected but the sauce was lovely.
We were offered the best service from all the employees but young women wearing sexy long black evening dresses to serve food was awkward and inappropriate in such a fine dining establishment.

From the seating to the waiting to the meal delivery (and afterwards), the service was wonderful. The food itself didn't take long to be served.
The interior is a very nice, cozy space with beautiful wood carvings and art; definitely a nice ambience. Thanks for helping to make the night lovely.
