The Horseshow Inn is situated in a beautiful area with stunning views, having sampled the specials menu I can state that the Chef knows how to treat food as it matched the views.
The only downside is probably what every hospitality business suffers from the need for service staff balanced the economic pressures, the staff were a little rushed which did mean at times you felt that drinks orders were delayed but don't let this spoil the opportunity to sample the menu.

Second time visited Horseshoe Inn for Easter Sunday lunch 13.30.shown a table for two in the bar.Requested another table in the far left corner.Found room very cold wood burner not lit.Dog in the room but quiet. Another family entered the room with two dogs ,pandemonium ensured.Food was excellent quality and hot but waiter patting dogs and then serving food not my idea of hygiene. Now realise this pub is dog friendly but uncontrollable dogs not an experience we want to repeat.

The whole experience was safe, comfortable and enjoyable. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Perfect servings. Good choice of menu, we had Sunday lunch but there were other options and a specials board. There is always a good selection of real ales and other drinks. Prices are reasonable. Service was with a smile as always. All in all a lovely county inn with a pleasant atmosphere and great service!

Very friendly welcome, we sat in the bar area which was lovely with a fire going. Food was quick to be served and I have to say they were the best chips I've ever had. Excellent Lunch, very pleasant Pub and friendly helpful staff. I was very confident in using the premises as the Covid19 control was fully observed. Lovely staff and welcome, gave us a larger table due to the size of the dogs. Little disappointed with the drinks selection, did not like their beers. Hoping for some nice real ales. My food was ok, but nothing special, had a lovely soup, followed by the belly pork, but my husband was disappointed with his pate and his pie, the beef was tough, not been cooked long enough. The cherrie ice cream was delicious. It just wasn’t as good as it had been a few years ago, but we will be back

The young man behind the bar was so friendly and hard-working. Absolutely a credit to the place.
Our initial welcome, however, from a guy in an apron was rude, first words being “you can’t take that dog in the restaurant!”
Not a ‘Hello’ or any sort of Welcome!

Unfortunately 4 of our party 05 had the battered cod, good portions but batter way to hard, making the fish dry. 2 had the bread and butter pudding and found it overcooked, ice cream was lovely. Was so looking forward to eating here too. Our party go out for lunch once a month and was hoping we could make a return, but we all agreed it won’t be on our list . The Horseshoe has a lovely view, they supply some seating outside and in the overflow carpark opposite.

food was amazing, the slow cooked lamb shoulder was tasty and tender. while the rib eye steak my wife had was the best steak she had ever tasted you did not require a steak knife it was that tender. the chocolate orange cheesecake was superb in both flavour and texture. the service was first class would recommend the horseshoe inn to anyone who likes good food and a great atmosphere.

There was very limited choice on the menu for those with allergies; eg: I am coeliac and was offered just one GF starter (soup) and a choice of just two mains (fish or steak). The staff showed no empathy with my concerns. The fish meal was overly salty; I informed the waitress but she took no action.
On a positive: my partner’s meal (pork belly) was good; the real ale was good; but the lack of background music affected the ambience.
Would return, but only when the menu caters better for GF customers.

First time here, bar very cosy but no atmosphere in the dining area. Lovely fire but not cosy bit disappointed. Hubby enjoyed his pie but my gammon overcooked. Chips lovely though. Staff friendly. Would try it again though

This was our 2nd visit since lockdown and it did not disappoint, the people with us were also impressed and said they would be returning. The service was superb with the waiters complying with the current safety requirements, the menu was good and the portions very generous, all told a thoroughly pleasant lunchtime meal. Lovely old country pub excellent food great service. Fantastic local ales. I wish it was in Cardiff where i live, but alas none like this here had to travel but well worth it .
Best pub for miles unless you go to a Fullers pub at Bath or Bristol.

Great pub with wheelchair access and disabled facilities. The excellent young staff work hard and nothing is too much trouble - all the time remaining courteous and v smiley. Food piping hot and very tasty/ Loved it.
