Welcome to our friendly village pub in the heart of the South Downs. The perfect spot to start your adventure in the National Park.

In the centre of Cocking village, immediately below the South Downs Way, and now owned by the local community, the Blue Bell at Cocking is a welcoming free house, serving fresh local produce and a choice of local ales, and excellent coffee. We have a garden with Downs views and are dog friendly in our public areas. We are also an official South Downs Information Point, providing comprehensive information on the surrounding area, and offer cycle repair facilities on site.

We enjoyed a family meal out at The Blue Bell for pie night. There was a choice of three homemade pies on the menu and they were all delicious, served with chips/mash and veg with a small jug of gravy. The service was warm and friendly and it seemed very popular with the locals - who were greeted by name. Would definitely recommend.

Good venue for a group get-together. Staff were friendly and we didn’t feel hurried. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We’ll meet there again but will ask for a table away from the door, as it was a bit cold when the door was open.

There is no 'cooked' breakfast, but we did not understand that there would be no breakfast at all. This was not communicated in Mickledore information. All the stuff in the room cannot compensate for some toast and tea together with the friends downstairs. This was for us a big disappointment.
